SMS ANIMATES "THE PINES"

Once again, Spline Motion teams up with architect Michael Karby to showcase an delicate mixture of beautiful Sierra Nevada forest with custom, hillside condominiums. All six condo models were created were constructed and then duplicated to form the 64 until layout.
The most difficult task was terraforming the hillside. Topographical data was used to align the winding road, driveways and ground.
The initial animation contains planar trees (an image of the required tree mapped to a 2-dimensional plane). Subsequent animations will replace the planes with much more detailed 3d trees from the program Speedtree. This allows for distinct views of the vegetation from any angle and even options for wind to affect branches and leaves.
